Pocket-Friendly Paans with a Distinct Identity
Siddheshwar Pan Shop in Pune has carved out a unique identity of its own. There is hardly any major locality in the city where a branch of Siddheshwar Pan Shop is not present. At present, the brand operates a total of 22 outlets across Pune. Popularly known as “Siddheshwar Pan Wala,” the shop is famous for offering delicious paans that comfortably fit within a customer’s budget.
The paans are priced at ₹20, ₹25, and ₹30, making them affordable yet premium in taste. Well-known across Pune for quality and budget-friendly paans, Siddheshwar Pan Shop records daily sales of approximately 1,500 to 2,000 paans. Currently, the shop offers more than a dozen varieties. Among them, Masala Paan, Kulfi Chocolate Paan, Ram Pyari Paan, and Phoolchand Paan are the most popular. These paans are so flavorful that customers travel from far-off areas to enjoy them. Many well-known personalities have also savored the taste of paan here.
A 51-Year Legacy of Taste and Trust
Operating for the last 51 years, Siddheshwar Pan Shop is currently managed by 38-year-old Suryakant Rajdar. In a conversation with Tobacco Plus, he shared that all branches are managed by family members and close relatives. He further revealed that at one of their outlets alone, nearly 30 kilograms of chutney are consumed within just two days.
The shop opens at 8:00 AM and remains operational until midnight. Throughout the day, there is a steady flow of customers. One key principle of Siddheshwar Pan Shop is that there is absolutely no compromise on quality. Regardless of profit margins, only premium-grade ingredients are used in preparing the paans.
The foundation of Siddheshwar Pan Shop was laid in 1975 by his late father, Neelkanth Rajdar. When Suryakant was just 13 years old, his father passed away. During that difficult period, his uncle, Veer Bhadreshwar Rajdar, extended full support in managing the business. Suryakant personally oversees the outlet located in Pimpri-Chinchwad, while the other branches are handled by relatives and family members.
Although dozens of varieties are available, the most popular remain Masala Paan and Rimjhim Phoolchand Paan. Other highly preferred varieties include Chocolate Paan, Masala Paan, Ram Pyari, and Kulfi Malai Paan.
Crafted with Care and Premium Ingredients
At Siddheshwar Pan Shop, each paan is prepared with great care and precision. The finest quality Calcutta betel leaves are used, along with premium-grade catechu (kattha), lime (chuna), supari, and other ingredients. The shop also adds special proprietary flavors that significantly enhance the taste experience.
The paans are not only delicious but also visually appealing. One of their biggest specialties is that the presentation itself tempts customers to taste them. Anyone who tries it once is almost certain to return.
In tobacco options, Baba 120, Baba 160, and Ratna 300 are customers’ top choices. In kimam, 90 Number is preferred, while for chutneys, Baba’s Navratan, Sadhana, and Meenakshi varieties are used, along with various flavored chutneys from KTC.
Popular Among Families and for Special Occasions
Since its establishment in 1975, Siddheshwar Pan Shop has always prioritized quality above everything else. This consistent focus is the reason behind its growing popularity over the decades. Even after achieving remarkable success, the owners chose not to diversify into other businesses. Instead, they focused their energy on expanding branches while maintaining the same taste and quality standards.
They remain constantly alert and attentive to preserving the unique flavor of their paans. Today, branches of Siddheshwar Pan Shop can be found across Pune city. Another notable aspect is the courteous and well-mannered behavior of staff at every outlet. Customers are treated with great respect, and not a single customer has ever left dissatisfied. Regular customers, in particular, enjoy a friendly rapport with the staff.
The shop’s popularity can be judged by the fact that many people visit with their families just to enjoy paan. Several customers also opt for packed paans to take home. The packaging is done in such a way that the paans remain fresh for several hours, with their taste intact.
Although the shop staff remains busy throughout the day, they also set up special stalls at weddings and auspicious events upon receiving advance orders. Every year, they receive at least 10 to 12 such event orders.
