The Anjum Legacy: Building a Global Identity on Purity and Quality

With a rich legacy spanning more than four decades, Anjum Group has established itself as a reputed name in the manufacturing and supply of premium essential oils. With a remarkable blend of expertise, modern technology and tradition, the group has earned a distinctive position globally for producing high-quality sandalwood oil and a wide range of essential oils.

The foundation of Anjum Group was laid in 1972 by Abdullah Malanad, father of Abdul Ashraf (Achu). The vision and integrity with which he started the business continue to remain the core pillars of the group even today. Subsequently, with the introduction of modernity and a new vision into the business, The Anjum Aromatics was established in 2014. Speaking to Tobacco Plus, Abdul Ashraf, Proprietor of The Anjum Legacy, revealed that Anjum is the name of his daughter. Since 2014, the brand has expanded its horizons with the vision of becoming a leading global supplier of essential oils.

Anjum Group uses naturally sourced raw materials obtained through ethical practices. In addition to India, the company imports high-quality raw materials and essential oils from countries such as Indonesia, Australia and Africa. The group’s primary focus is on the production of sandalwood oil and its by-products. Although Indian sandalwood oil is considered among the finest in the world, its limited availability in India has led the company to import sandalwood from Mauritius and other countries. The variety sourced from Mauritius is considered to be quite similar in quality to Indian sandalwood. The company’s product range caters to the requirements of the perfumery, skincare, pan masala, tobacco, aromatherapy, pharmaceutical and various industrial sectors.

Over the years, the company has significantly strengthened and modernised its infrastructure. Today, Anjum Group’s network extends from a modern manufacturing unit located in the Indore Special Economic Zone, to a production house and branch in Hyderabad, an aromatics unit in Bengaluru, and a global corporate head office in Dubai. According to Abdul Ashraf, the company’s two distillation units in Bengaluru and Hyderabad have a combined capacity of at least 1,500 kg of sandalwood oil distillation per month. This substantial capacity enables the company to fulfil large orders from customers across the world within the required timelines.

Responding to a question, Abdul Ashraf told Tobacco Plus that a significant portion of essential oils is used in the fragrance and flavour industries. Particularly in the pan masala and tobacco industries, natural and high-quality essential oils play a very important role. Anjum Group offers a wide range of fragrances to meet the specific requirements of these industries. Abdul Ashraf believes that pan masala and tobacco manufacturers should connect directly with Anjum Group. Direct engagement with the company not only provides manufacturers with transparent and competitive pricing, but also ensures the highest quality of products.

The greatest strength of Anjum Group is its unwavering commitment to quality and purity. Abdul Ashraf stated that the company has been supplying products to its customers for years and has never compromised on quality. The position the group has achieved in the market is a reflection of the unwavering trust of its customers. Driven by this quality-focused approach, Anjum Group’s products have established a strong presence in international markets across Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Overall, what began as a small dream in 1972 has today grown into a global journey spanning Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with a global corporate head office in Dubai. The Anjum Legacy stands as an excellent example of a brand that remains rooted in its traditional values while embracing modern innovation and earning global recognition and trust.
