Mohan ji Vaidu, who operates a firm named Vaidu Products in Belgaum, Maharashtra, has extensive experience in the pan masala and tobacco industry. Active in this field for the last 27 years, Mohan ji started his career as a salesman, travelling on a bicycle. After building a strong presence in the market, he established his own firm.

Today, Mohan ji has a strong network across Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, and other nearby districts. This is the reason why his firm handles the distributorship of several brands including Star Pan Masala, Sidhu Super Pan Masala, Musafir, Miraj Khaini, and Chaini Khaini. Recently, he has also taken up the distribution work for Firozza. Apart from this, he is also involved in his own business of natural supari and black rate tobacco.

Speaking to Tobacco Plus, Mohan ji said that he has a strong team of 20 salesmen. As soon as orders are received, the products are delivered immediately.

Talking about pan masala brands, he told Tobacco Plus that in the regular pan masala category, Vimal is number one across Karnataka. Explaining the reasons behind its success, he said that it is the only product that does not face shortage issues. Along with this, its quality is strong and the company’s service is excellent.

The second best-selling brand is Sidhu Super, while Star from the Ghodawat Group ranks third in sales. Apart from these, brands like Musafir, Kamla Pasand, Shikhar, and Firoza are also selling well.

In the premium segment, RMD holds the number one position. Rajnigandha also enjoys good sales. Compared to RMD and Rajnigandha, Director and Baba 120 Pan Masala are witnessing strong sales due to their more affordable pricing.

Responding to a question from Tobacco Plus, Vaidu said that if a new masala brand has good quality, strong service, and the company has patience, only then can it establish itself in the market.

To help new products gain market acceptance, Vaidu provides extra incentives to salesmen. His firm also has a well-equipped warehouse facility where sufficient stock can be maintained.

He believes that to meet a company’s expectations, he will put in his full effort to establish any quality brand successfully in the market.
